The watchdogs who patrol Charlotte Ann Cox Elementary School in Cedar Park and Annie Purl Elementary in Georgetown are a breed like no other-- they are the fathers of the school children
About 90 fathers and grandfathers in the Leander district who serve as WatchDOG dads, volunteers in a national program that puts fathers on school campuses each day to tighten security and serve as role models for the children.
DOGs, or Dads of Great Students, greet students as they get off buses in the morning, walk the halls and perimeters of a campus, looks around to check if appopriate doors are locked and helpa teachers monitor cafeteria and recess periods.
